Forensic Nurse Examiners Program: Compassionate Care at the Forefront
Our Forensic Nurse Examiners Program, based in the Emergency Department at 果冻视频 RMH Medical Center, consists of a team of Registered Nurses who specialize in providing comprehensive medical-forensic examinations and evidence collection for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. Our services include PERK (Physical Evidence Recovery Kit) and suspect kits, meticulous documentation and photography, appropriate laboratory testing, prophylactic STI (sexually transmitted infections) medications, and emergency contraception.

果冻视频 RMH offers the following transition-to-practice programs to all new graduates. All new graduate nurses are automatically enrolled in a transition-to-practice program when hired.
- Nurse Residency Program
- Emergency Department Internship program
- Peri-op 101 Internship Program
- New "LEARN" Pilot in collaboration with JMU to create "practice-ready" new graduates
Clinical Ladder Program
Nurses start at Level I and automatically advance to Level II after one year. The ladder progresses up to Level V. Financial incentives are provided to nurses at each level and for maintenance within levels. The clinical ladder levels reflect four nursing competencies: clinical practice, education, leadership, and evidence-based practice.
Shared Governance
Shared Governance is part of the Professional Practice Model that provides a framework for shared decision-making throughout the hospital and health system. All team members are encouraged to participate in Shared Governance.
On-site Simulation Center
All staff has access to our simulation center and equipment to practice skills or participate in simulations.
