Coronary artery disease, the most common form of heart disease, occurs when cholesterol and fatty deposits called plaque build up in the arteries. Plaque deposits narrow the arteries and restrict blood flow. Some people may experience a heart attack due to coronary artery disease. At 果冻视频, our heart experts can help. We specialize in detecting coronary heart disease early. Depending on your needs, we can assist you with medical management, minimally invasive procedures, open surgery and cardiac rehabilitation.

Depending on the severity of the condition, your doctor may recommend medication to lower cholesterol, manage blood pressure and improve blood flow the heart. With this type of monitoring, called watchful waiting, you will undergo regularly scheduled medical imaging tests. If your condition changes enough to require additional treatment, your doctor may recommend a minimally invasive procedure.

When appropriate, we may recommend minimally invasive treatments. We use the most effective, least invasive procedure possible. Advantages of minimally invasive procedures include:

  • Smaller incisions
  • Less trauma, blood loss and pain
  • Fewer complications
  • Shorter hospital stay
  • Faster recovery times

If your coronary artery disease has progressed, your surgeon may recommend percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) or balloon angioplasty.

During a PCI procedure, your surgeon opens blocked blood vessels to your heart.

Balloon angioplasty is a type of PCI. Doctors insert a catheter with a balloon at the end through a blood vessel in your groin. Once the catheter reaches your affected artery, doctors expand the balloon to push the plaque away and improve your blood flow.

In many cases, doctors also place a stent during a balloon angioplasty. A stent is a small, metal mesh tube that keeps your arteries open and prevents them from developing new blockages.

Your doctor might recommend coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), an open-heart surgery pronounced "cabbage." During bypass surgery, your surgeon bypasses one or more of your blocked arteries. He or she reroutes blood flow through a healthy blood vessel taken from your arm, chest or leg.

Our comprehensive cardiac rehab program can support you in safely regaining your strength after surgery. We create an individualized program based on your specific needs and goals.

A cardiologist oversees your cardiac rehab team, which includes:

  • Cardiac nurses
  • Exercise physiologists
  • Registered dietitians

The program includes:

  • Nutritional guidance
  • Physical activities and strength training
  • Stress management
